Only then can one grasp how much energy and strategic understanding were invested in its construction."

(Israel)—Researchers from the University of Haifa have discovered how humans three thousand years before Christ found sufficient quantities of mean to eat in an arid landt by studying "desert kites" spread across the expanses of Israel's Negev and Arava desert region.

What are desert kites? As reported in Israel National News, by the early 20th century, British pilots flying over the Middle Eastern deserts identified strange forms resembling "kites"—like two long walls that meet at angles and end in a rounded trench—spreading over hundreds of meters, sometimes even over a few kilometers. Some archaeologists theorize they served as cattle pens. (Photo: Israel National News)

According to the report, a few weeks ago, a research team funded by National Geographic, completed a survey of all eleven "kites" of the Negev and Arava. The study's findings have clearly shown that these "kites" were used as mass hunting apparatus.

"When standing in one of these kites, it is astounding to see how it fits into the landscape and how the wild animals' migration routes would converge into the hidden kite," said Dr. Bar-Oz. "Only then can one grasp how much energy and strategic understanding were invested in its construction."

"The traps were placed in locations where animal migration routes were concentrated into bottlenecks. There is no doubt that this reflects that the prehistoric inhabitants of the desert had a lot of knowledge: they knew the cattle migration routes very well and knew where to place each of the traps most efficiently," said archaeologist, Dr. Daniel Nadel.

Intriguing how God uses varying methods of feeding His people, isn't it? He provided the Israelites with quail in the desert and also provided them with the know-how and skills to hunt animals for food. How much more does He feed us spiritually, using miraculous and/or co-creative methods.
