INDIA (ANS) -- Operation Mobilization (OM) is one ministry the Lord is using to perfect His will among these people, of which their church-planting teams can't keep up with the ever increasing needs coming up from among these people.
In a statement the president of OM, Rick Hicks said that after serving in India for 43 years, Operation Mobilization is helping train nationals to be pastors and establish new churches all across India adding that over time, Indian society has viewed Dalits as worthless and disposable.
"They've been forced to perform the most degrading jobs and are denied access to decent education, food, healthcare and economic opportunity. From birth until death, these untouchables struggle to survive in hellish conditions," he noted.
He further said: "But change is sweeping through parts of India. An outpouring of the Holy Spirit is transforming lives and infusing hope in communities of abject poverty. A gift to Operation Mobilization today makes you an integral part of this great awakening among the Dalits. Your gift will help provide funds to train critically needed Indian national pastors for the Dalits."
Hicks noted that OM's commitment to reaching the people of India over the past four decades has helped ignite one of the most exciting and fastest-growing church movements in the nation-the Good Shepherd Community Church (GSCC), and that the number of churches is increasing rapidly.
"The stirring of the Holy Spirit across the nation of India puts the Good Shepherd Community Church movement in the position to plant thousands more churches across the land," he added.
In his contribution, OM's National Director of OM India, Joseph D'souza, said that the need could grow to several thousand new churches in the next 10 years adding that to prepare for that anticipated growth, thousands more national pastors must be trained now.
"To meet the growing church needs, OM India must train 1,250 pastors, church planters, and church workers in the next 12 months. The cost for two sessions a year is $120 per pastor/worker. Your contribution will help ensure that those who are called to lead will be equipped to lead," D'souza also said.
Operation Mobilization is an international Christian mission agency with over 5,400 workers in more than 110 countries and onboard two ocean-going ships. OM seeks to demonstrate and proclaim the love of God through evangelism, church planting, discipleship, and literature distribution and also by providing relief and development in many areas of the world. Wherever possible, Operation Mobilization works in partnership with the local church, encouraging and supporting local believers. Where there is no church, they seek to plant churches.
